Obstacles are all around us. They want to knock us flat on our backs and keep us from being our best selves. But inside all of us is a light that when ignited propels us through seemingly insurmountable obstacles. We welcome you to take the No Barriers pledge by filling out the pledge form.
I pledge to live a No Barriers Life. In doing so, I am promising to harness adversity, break through my personal barriers and create a life of purpose and impact. I will always remember that regardless of our abilities, we all have some type of barrier in our lives and that no matter what barriers I face, what’s within me is stronger than what’s in my way.

No Barriers Pledge Examples for Students
We are often asked, “What makes a good No Barriers Pledge?” Good pledges are specific, actionable, and meaningful. Here is an example of a pledge that misses the mark:
“I want to be a better sibling.”
_____
So, how can we make that better? Here is a revised, tightened version:
“I want to spend one hour each week playing soccer with my brother, because that is his favorite sport.”
_____
Other examples:
Weak: “I want to become a professional dancer.”
Strong: “To achieve my goal of becoming a professional dancer, I will join my school’s dance club, and sign up for private lessons to work on my technique.”
_____
By refining the students’ pledge goals, you can help them be more accountable and focused on the outcomes of their pledges.
